Queens jury convicts Kings Park physician in kickback scheme
Dr. Payam Toobian has been found guilty of running a kickback scheme and defrauding Medicaid.
Toobian allegedly gave gift cards and cash to doctors in exchange for patient referrals and instructed employees to add unnecessary procedures to increase Medicaid payments.
Toobian's corporation, America's Imaging Center, oversaw Long Island Radiology Associates and Empire Imaging of Forest Hills. [ more ]
